Taman Mini Indonesia Indah also known as TMII is an Indonesian cultural-themed tourist park in East Jakarta. It occupies an area of approximately 150 hectares. The idea of constructing the "Indonesia Indah" Mini Park (TMII) came with Siti Hartinah Suharto, fondly known as Mrs. Tien Suharto.Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (lit. 'Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park'; formerly Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah" with apostrophes—abbreviated as TMII) is a culture-based recreational area located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. Since July 2021, it is operated by PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, dan Ratu Boko, a subsidiary of the state-owned Taman Mini, the Prime Showcase of Indonesia's Rich Cultural and Natural Diversity. Popularly known as Taman Mini, it is located in East Jakarta, and consist of 26 exclusive replicas of traditional houses of chieftains found throughout the Indonesian archipelago from Aceh to Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java and Papua.One of the most famous vacation areas in Jakarta City is called Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. No wonder almost all tourists or visitors won't miss the chance to drop by. The locals call it TMII, actually.
